Plans comparison

AT&T Launches Best-Ever Prices for Families on its Best-in-Class Network

Note: These plans are for non-contract or phones bought through AT&T's NEXT plan only. You can't get a new subsidized phone for $200 if you switch to this plan. If you go with the NEXT plan any time after 12 or 18 months, you can trade in your smartphone for a brand new one, or choose to keep the smartphone and, after 20 or 26 months, no more installment payments are required. The NEXT plan will add anywhere from $25-$35 per month per phone for high-end phones.

So, in sum, the $15 is for existing customer lines. These new plans do not require a contract so you are going month to month. If/when you choose to change your existing device you have two options:

1. use ATT Next where you pay for the device over time (basically a loan tacked onto your monthly bill). or

2. buy a phone outright and keep the same cost per month.

Verizon better start moving quick or they will lose a lot of customers with their ridiculously inflated prices.

AT&T's coverage sucks in my area so i would be okay paying an extra $20 or $30 to Verizon so that i can actually use my phone.

I'm still staying with Verizon. It's worth a little extra $ for the best coverage.

t mobile still cheaper..

3 lines with 2.5gb each a month is only 120.

Apples to apples... T-Mobile with 4 lines with 2.5gb each or 10gb is 140 a month

It's about time they started competing on prices again. Seems like it was about 8-10 years ago before smart phone were so prevalent was the last time the carriers actually started competing on price. Cell phone service is ridiculously overpriced.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is there an age restriction on a family plan?

That info graphic doesn't have the new Verizon plan. They have brand new $45 unlimited talk and text with a data plan.

AT&T coverage sucks compared to Verizon's.

I'll stick to Verizon's although I finally lost my unlimited data grandfathered in because I updated my phone.

I just added a second Verizon iPhone. Also have two AT&T iphones. Verizon was cheaper than AT&T and cheaper than the verizon rates shown there. In fact had decided to move two AT&T to Verizon when contracts are up.

Either way, I like it. All the prices will start coming down

My purchase was 2 weeks ago
