Police have been searching for this guy since March 29th - That's 13 days!!
How much money has the state spent looking for a small time pot dealer?
If he was on work release, he probably wasn't a high risk, violent inmate.

Channel 9 - Police Seach for Escaped Work Release Prisoner

quote:

Law enforcement officers are actively searching for an escaped inmate who is believed to be in the Valley Park-area.

quote:

he escaped from the work-release program in Ouachita Parish (Monroe) on March 29, 2014.

quote:

10-year sentence for possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.

if they stop looking and he DOES rob/kill someone..people will be asking why they stopped looking for him.

"Escape from the State, and we might look for you. It all depends on the budget."

Is that what you want?

NEVER!

He can't be that much of a threat if he's only serving a 10 year term. His term started in 2012, and he's already on work release...

This...just because he was serving a sentence for a non-violent crime does not mean this could not happen.

Not to mention that not searching for him/ capturing would send a bad message to others who might not have taken the risk of escape before.

I understand he might've had a rap sheet or 10yrs might've been part of a plea deal. You never know. I just hate that anyone is ever charged with any pot crime

Are you upset we are continuing a search longer than two weeks for an escaped convict?

Not upset, just wondering what amount of money would be considered reasonable to spend on tracking this guy down. Would a month's worth of searching, labor costs, and helicopter fuel costs be worth catching this guy?

Dude, he had weed. That is a drug of mass destruction. They MUST capture this animal at all cost.

To get 10 years for PWIT any drug, he must have had a badass history with violent criminal acts that come with the drug game.

Is the effort and cost even worth it to arrest, convinct, and house inmates in jail for years and years and fight and defend appeals etc.
