I stopped at All-Star Chevrolet at lunch just to look at replacing my current truck. A 2016 Silverado Crew Cab 4X4 with a decent package (cloth, towing package, 20" wheels) is $43,000 AFTER all rebates and incentives. The sticker is $50,600. I left and appreciated my paid-off 2010 a little more.

A good buddy of mine paid like $69k or something for a fully loaded brand new Tahoe.

I saw his paperwork in the passenger seat and almost puked.

When they realized people would pay for it. The "luxury" truck market is lucrative right now.

My buddy bought a loaded GMC 4x4 for $40k out the door. They are stupid expensive, but you can shop some significantly better deals than that.

I'm guessing low interest rates have something to do with it. Actual cost with interest probably hasn't changed that much, you're just seeing more of it on the sticker.

I don't understand why or how so many people are willing to pay $50k for a truck. Even with 6 year loans and loan interest, frick that.

Do you see a problem when people pay 50k + for a car?

From my understanding if you are paying sticker than you are a sucker.

If you are paying like 35k for a 50k sticker than you did pretty good.

Ill just buy the used one with 15k miles for like 30k.

This cannot be painted with a broad brush. Every type of car and truck is different. Used markets are different. Dealerships are different. Cost of living (regional price hikes) are different.
