Asking for prayers and good thoughts and vibes for my family.

Got a call around 11 last night, letting me know my 18 year old cousin was murdered. He wasn't a bad kid, wasn't a "dindu", but a high school graduate with dreams of joining the Air Force rotc and attending MSU for mechanical engineering. A loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, lost his life for nothing. Over a video game of 2K17. Over a damn video game.

Sports video game.
Just horrific for anyone that young to lose their life, period. Prayers to you, 7th, and all your family.

Sorry man. This is the problem with society. It has no regard for life or property. Assholes take what they want when they want. It's disgusting that as a society we've devolved to this level. It's a systemic problem that needs addressing yet nobody wants to tackle it for fear of racism or homophobia, or whatever. It's like the old sobriety saying goes "the first step to recovery is admitting it". The problem is that the politicians won't admit it. Local leaders won't admit it. The black community barely admits it. And whites don't admit it due to fear of backlash by, for lack of a better term, fricking batshit crazy social justice warriors and members of the black community. So things truck along business as usual and the only ones who suffer are the black community. And that's incredibly fricked up.

What is this supposed to mean? That everything is cool and no violence? Let's ask 7th ward how he feels about your nifty chart. We all see it everyday on the news, in the paper and on social media. Sweep it under the rug but it exists. 30 years ago we didn't see white meth heads begging for money. We didn't see blacks with their pants wrapped around their knees and we certainly didn't see people getting killed over games.

his situation is sad and it sucks. anecdotal, emotional scenarios should never be used when discussing meta issues

bruh
you're falling victim to recency bias and media saturation, with a twist of halcyon mythology of the 80s/90s
the 80s and 90s weren't Friends and the Cosby Show. it was the worst, most violent time in American history without question

That's horrible man, sorry to hear. It's crazy how some people just don't value life at all.
Prayers to friends and family of the young man.

I think what he was getting at is that this isn't the right thread for that (your chart), no matter if you're right or wrong
