Was at the neighborhood store and hit the produce section first.

Asian lady was very methodically picking cabbage. She would dig, find a head she liked, then rip a bunch of the external leaves off. I finished my shopping and went back to produce maybe 10 min later because I forgot something. AZN lady still there now with maybe a dozen head of cabbage and pile of leaves on the floor.

The cabbage was 25 cents a pound. She probably saved a dime by ripping all those leaves off.

Why are Asians so damn difficult?

Your tone seems a bit slanted against Asians and their culture. Why?

She's probably got 15 Asians stuffed in a shipping container somewhere near the docks that she's responsible for feeding every night. Every penny counts bro

I can promise you that in the grand scheme of people who annoy me at a grocery store, the asian ladies are pretty damn far down on the list.

Asia is a huge, diverse continent.

Do you mean an oriental lady?

Old women in produce aisles are terrible in general, whether they're Oriental or not. Yesterday at the HEB I just wanted one white onion and it took me 3 attempts over a 10 minute period to get past these two old ladies of undetermined origin who were just standing and staring.

I call them 'sightseers'. They may as well be taking pictures.

I can tell you from experience, it is very common in Asian markets. My mom would clip the ends of okra (ladies finger as british call them) to see how fresh they are. She would pick the ones that passed her test.

Oh, we have people tear the plastic wrap off grapes to sample them. No shame at all.
