My home-rebuilt camp truck transmission has comitted suicide and will need to be rebuilt by someone who actually knows what they're doing
All suggestions welcome. I'm not looking to save money as much as I'm looking to not have to deal with this again.

you need to price around GM reman Transmissions. They have a great warranty (even if you install or another shop).

Are there any junkyards close? They may have a wrecked vehicle with a good transmission.

Yea but I'm not going that route. Going to drop this bastard off somewhere and pick it up operational.
Preferably in a nice professional shop and not some jack legs back yard oak tree. I'd rather spend $3k and not worry about it for another 250k miles.

I bring all my vehicles to Diez tire & automotive on Highway 42 first. Derrick either fixes it or tells me where to go for something he doesn't do. They're a good shop.

It's been a long time since I've been there, but that place on Gardere did me right. Not sure if they are still there or not.

What's your email? I may be able to help you with this.

Powertrain for sure. I know Keith well and you won't find a more honest guy. He actually LOVES working on transmissions. If you go in he won't be in the front, he is in the back in his little room working on cars.
