Post-college, all my cars has been white. All my driving is on pavement, so my car is very easy to maintain a clean look.

I've been entertaining the thought of a new black truck. They look great clean, but I am sure I will neglect it when it gets a little old. I'm afraid after 5 years, it will look like garbage. Especially when I dont have a garage.

Anyone regrets getting a black car/truck?

I dont't see why Chrysler 300's and Cutlass Supremes would be any harder to clean than white cars.

I never cursed the rain more than when I had a black car.

Yeah, but that's one of the stupidest reasons not to get the car you want.

I would say yes. I used to have a black yukon and it was a bitch to keep it looking clean.

You don't notice just how dirty a white car is until you wash it. It is easier to see when a darker colored vehicle is dirty..

its not "just" black but any dark color, the darker it is the more dust and dirt stands out on it.

likewise a lighter color car doesn't show dust and dirt as much, even white doesn't show dirt much, in fact until you rub a "clean spot" to see the difference it can be filthy as hell and not really show it much.

contrast that with black or dark blue and it constantly looks dirty unless you keep in in a closed garage and wash it 4 times a week. if you don't plan to do that, of pay someone to do it for you, it will forever look like you never wash it even if you washed it 2 days ago

Any black or dark color will show dirt worse.

Also you have to be very careful how you wash or you will get the spiderweb scratches all over.

Silver or white for me...

Stay away from black vehicles. They show everything and swirl marks. If you want a dark vehicle, buy a dark green or dark blue. It will show dirt, but not as bad as black.

White is the way to go. Looks clean even when dirty

I noticed my black vehicle shows up more dirt than my old white one did. I just end up washing my black vehicle more.

But, when it'd clean, it looks great. Makes me feel better driving it.

The only other thing I would complain about with a black vehicle is the heat. Having a black vehicle bake in the sun in south LA is awful, so make sure you tint your windows and always leave a crack in them.

Not harder to keep clean. They get equally as dirty as white cars, it just shows up more on black cars.

Don't. I've had a black one and a dark blue one. Shows dirt really bad and in the summer time you'll swear the thing never cools off after being in the sun.

What drives your validation to keep a car clean? Keeping it clean on the inside can certainly reflect one's hygiene habits, but the outside is typically done to impress other people.
