I was thinking about getting one after using a friend's.

There's a crap ton of exercise bikes ranging from cheap to very expensive.

So what do you have? Hate it or like it?

Or you could ride an actual bicycle.

I have an elliptical. Love it. Think it was about $700 or so but I use it five days a week for several years.

Hate that damn thing. I only use it if the weather doesn't permit me to walk or ride my real bicycle.

I have a $200 one from Walmart (Gold's Gym brand). It works great for me. I think the more expensive ones just have more bells and whistles.

I bought a used one for my Dad for $125. That's the way to go, because it was already put together and hardly used at all.

btw, my doc says to get the recumbent type as opposed to the upright. He says it's easier on the knees.

I am in my 50s and I've been running since my 20s. Lately the heat and my age have made running difficult, so I bought a recumbent bike--Excerpuetic 1000. It was less than $200 and I think it is a good value. Got it from Target online.

I have a real cheap one from Academy. I like it, but I only ride for 20 minutes in the morning while I watch the news. If it was my primary riding source, I would want something a little sturdier.

Walmart online actually has a great selection of spin bikes. Same ones my gym uses.

ETA: $150 and easy to use

There was an unskippable ad, so I don't know what that was

Precor Commercial Recumbent bike. Best exercise purchase ever. Expensive, but well worth it.

Oh well I don't know how to get around the ad so if you are that impatient then you just aren't interested in learning what the best model is. It is a demonstration video as well which shows up to 30 mph. Well worth the extra 45 seconds if you ask me. I own one.

Get a bike and a trainer. Ride outside on nice days.

Plus you'll have proper bicycle geometry.

I have a bike and a trainer. Trainer was like $100 (although they can get much more expensive). Bike costs whatever you want to spend. I HATE riding indoors, but sometimes, it's all you can do. I prefer riding on the trainer than the bikes at the gym though.
