Anyone took the plunge? Had enough in the savings, faith, and confidence in their-selves to say f it? What was your age and how did it turn out?

Yes. Two weeks before getting married too. Bitch manager threw me under the bus too many times and I told her to shove it. I should have waited though as she was fired soon after.

Yeah, when I was 26 and hated the place I worked at the time.

Did some freelance work, traveled, and before long I found another job in my field... took a slight pay cut, but worth it.

I've been debating doing this for a while now. Just not sure how it looks to future employers.

I've been thinking about this for a while now. I'm just ready to get away from the city I'm in and move back closer to home.

Problem is, there isn't much of a market for workers with my experience other than where I am. It would also be difficult for me to go interview in another city with my current schedule.

I'm thinking I should just go for it, but it does make me nervous.

As long as you've got some money saved up, go for it.

I wasn't happy with the company I was at before, so I put in my two weeks. Ended up with a smaller company but a lot more freedom and less micromanagement, then moved on and up from there. Definitely made the right decision.

I got married without a job too. Boy that sucked. We were living in San Francisco and moving to NOLA. My wife had a job back here and I worked up until day we left. It took a few months before I found another good job. I fricking applied at every antique store on Magazine...man that was the life. I should have left off my education, and work experience for that matter, that's for sure. Caused some awkward conversations.

Anyone took the plunge?

All the time in my 20's. I was desperately seeking a career that I would like. I took the, "do what you love and you'll never have to "work" a day in your life" mantra to heart.

Now I realize its more like, "If you find something that doesn't make you want to blow your brains out after 3 months, hang on to it."

I did it at about 28. I'm in a job I like much better now, but did have to blow through some savings.

I wouldn't generally recommend it, but my firm was doing shite I just didn't want my name to be associated with.

Several times. No regrets. I can deal with a little financial insecurity to get past a job I find no interest in or have a dislike for.
