Best money I ever spent. I had it done 10 years ago. I didn't drive for 36 hours. My vision was a little blurry the next day. But it's been great ever since.

Raises hand. Got it done when I was 19. I was a negative 3 something and now have been 20/15 for 11 years. Procedure took about an hour. Went in the next day, unwrapped everything and was perfect 20/15

I had lasik 7 years ago and I could drive the next day. I went to a party the next day. Was fully functional really straight from the surgery. Still see great.

I'm 28... The deal I have basically insures them for life. If I ever need a correction it is free. I've also heard many people that do it in there 40's detoriate more rapid.

Did it in 2000. Went from 20/400 to 20/20 the next day. Wore patches on both eyes for 24 hours. No issues with recovery. One of the best things I've ever done. If you haven't already, invest in a pair of good sunglasses to help with the glare.

95% of the people who have it say it's amazing, no problems, blah, blah. I still get some dry eye 6 or 7 years later and I have a weird contrast sensitivity thing that happened where I have more trouble than before seeing in dark areas, yet a bright day outside is almost overbearing and I need sunglasses. All of that said, these issues are no worse than what I had with glasses and contacts. Outdoors are like a high-def TV for me.

I have an astygmatism and 44 and wondered if I would qualify. I am just going to have to go in for a visit and see for myself. I've worn glasses since the sixth grade and would love to not wear glasses or contacts.

I know a guy that got it around your age... He was fine for about 10 years. Now he required readers sometimes if the font is small. Other than that he says it's fine.

What's wrong after 40?

My mom had it done in her 50s and its been great for over 10 years.

it's definitely not as good as it was when I first got it, I assume because of the age thing like they said but don't really know for certain.

My doctor told me that LASIK does not cure the natural aging of the ocular muscle, so chances were that I would need glasses again at some point.

There's a new surgery that they're doing in Hattiesburg that cures the need for readers- my cousin is the one that's doing it, and it's apparently been very successful.

Had it 2 weeks ago today. Main thing to remember is everyone recovers differently! Some say they saw perfect 2 days later, others took some time (2 weeks-3 months with possible correction). I saw 20/20 the next day, but blurry vision has been my issue. At times i see well and others is hazzy/blurry, which is to be expected. Your vision is going to fluctuate from anywhere up 6 months before stabilizing. Eyes are dry the next morning so i drown them in drops. So far im fairly satisfied but my eyes have a ways to go before i would say i have perfect vision. Buddy of mine had 2 weeks prior to me and says same thing. Do your research before surgery though!

That's it, dammit. I've been thinking about this, but it keeps slipping my mind. I hate the idea of laying back with lasers cutting up my eyeballs, but I need this in my life. frick glasses and contacts.

Dr Woo. Was blind and now I see.
Recovery time consisted of laying down with my eye covered for a while.
Hallelujah. Amen.

Apparently my right eye isn't bad enough to really even require the surgery, but I figured I should just get them both done. The procedure on my right doesn't require the insured surgery but I figured what the hell, might as well spend the few extra bucks now and have them covered forever. And I'm going through LASIKPlus which has offices all over the country.

The weirdest/scariest part is they cut your eye and fold it back. That was a difficult part in the procedure for me. You completely lose sight for approximately 10-15 seconds if I remember correctly. After that was good to go. They say you have to be careful with your eyes while healing. Dont get hit in the head.
