Anyone here been to Ukraine?

Going to Odessa the second and third week of September. Any recommendations? Plan on loading up on the vodka.

My only experience: Don't enter the country, via train, at night without getting your passport stamped or having a visa and then try leaving during the daylight when the guards are awake...

The steps are cool, but you should watch Battleship Potemkin before you go to appreciate them.
The Opera House is worth it, if you like opera.
I remember a pretty cool Naval/Maritime museum.
It may be a little too cold to enjoy the beaches/sanatariums.
Remember to order salo with your vodka.
The old town is very French since a French architect built it.
The restaurants turn over a lot, but make sure you get the sturgeon shashlik. Shahslik is Russian shish-ka-bob.

Hope you don't have a long layover in KBP. The food options are crap but atleast the terminal is new. I haven't been to Odessa, but I have been to the Lviv area on a mission trip.

I went to Ukraine in 2007. Just go enjoy the culture.
