I'm from Florence. Muscle Shoals is kind of a wash other than the recording studios. I'd visit downtown Florence and walk around if I were you. You can go to the D2 campus of UNA and see the lions, Leo and Una. Eat at Bunyans BBQ (get both bbq sandwich and slaw dog). Check out the Wilson Dam area and walk by the river bottom by the dam.

There's not a whole lot that goes on here but it's a simple nice little area.

Hope this helps out. It's alway nice coming back home since I live in ATL now. It's a completely different pace of life. Refreshing.

The Tennessee River is gorgeous over in the Shoals. One of the more underrated spots in America.

There are no Monday's there. Also the Helen Keller museum and home are in Tuscumbia. Actually it's pretty good. Stay at the Marriott resort and play both Robert Trent Jones courses.

Fame studio, old MCA studio and the original one on Jackson highway..Alabama Music Hall Of Fame in Tuscumbia, The Coon Dog Graveyard Memorial, drive a little bit down the Natchez Trace, do a tour at one of the TVA dams nearby, great Native American Museum at UNA with some incredible artifacts.

Lived there for a 4 yrs while growing up and went to UNA for 1.5 yrs.

If it's still there smokehouse pool hall use to have the best chili burger ever.
