Saw it mentioned in a random thread the other night and was wondering if any one else has it?

I just turned 25 this year and had my first breakout over the Winter. Was honestly the worst leg pain I've ever endured and I could barely walk.

If you don't know what it is, here's a link.

Not quite the same but I had Thrombocytopenic Purpura when I was 10. This is associated with a low platelet count. I was feeling sick and weak and would bruise very easily for over month and went to the Doctor a few times and he didn't know what was wrong. One day I had a rash on my calf that looked like a bunch of freckles but was actually small broken blood vessels. We showed that to my Pediatrician and he immediately knew what it was and sent me straight to the hospital. I was lucky because my platelet count was so low that I probably would not have stopped bleeding if I started. I was the first case that he had seen of this in over 30 years of practicing medicine.

My daughter had it when she was about 14 months old.

My son got it when he was about 13 years old. They put him on a steroid for 30 days and they had him go in once a week or so to check his urine. They said that a person rarely has their kidneys fail when they get it, that's why they checked his urine so often. He is now 23 years old and it has never returned. Jeff

Dude I'm sorry you've got to deal with that. So you basically have a strong chance of kidney failure at an early age then? That's fricked up

I had it last summer. It's crazy cause it just sprouts from an allergic reaction. I couldn't walk for a day or two. It's cleared on my skin but I still have it in my kidneys and have had to go to a nephrologist every month for the last year

Yes. When i was a kid. I don't remember any pain with it. Just remember taking a bath and my foot was purple. Went to the dr. and had a high temperature. Parents thought i had lukemia. Ended up taking some medicine and it went away, i think.

I had it when I was 5 or 6...don't really remember much other than getting a lot of blood work done. I didn't know how serious it was when I was that young but there was a day or two where I couldn't move because of the pain. There's pictures of my dad carrying me around and I look like a limp noodle.

I remember reading a stat about how there's something like a 40% chance of it coming back a year after you get it and that has something like a 30% rate of mortality if it does come back....idk it was some scary shite. Took my socks off one day to bathe and was like "man what are all these dots all over my leg doing here?"

I haven't had an outbreak since the initial one, but it makes me worry that it could come back. I know that it's more common in infants and toddlers, and apparently it's somewhat rare in adults.

I never knew that "joint pain" could hurt as much as it did. I thought I was just sore from working out or something.

That was another thing, I'm a pretty healthy guy. I mean yeah, I dip, smoke the occasional cig, but other than that I work out, not overweight or anything. I don't the best diet, but I certainly don't eat out for every meal. That was what caught me off guard about it most.

Probably the craziest thing about it all was when I went to the doctor, they didn't know what the frick it was initially.
