thanks pettifogger...im worried about catching it late stage if in fact it is cancer...hopefully it is a huge cyst...that would be welcome news as I know they can likely help in that scenario...I'm in southeast GA..so St. Vincent's or Mayo Clinic will likely be our choices...I will absolutely be the point man and will absolutely not let any doctor BS me or whatever..I will act an arse if I feel that is happening...

You will not hear this often but my mom is a 25 year survivor. We found out that she had ovarian cancer when she became anemic. She had an excellent Oncologist/Gynecologist surgeon and went through chemotherapy treatments at Woman’s Hospital. Going into her treatment I did not know how high the mortality rate was for this type of cancer. My mom did know and she still had complete faith that she would beat the cancer. She told me that she had to live because only she can take care of my father.
I wish you the best with your situation. Have faith that it is possible to survive.

No experience with ovarian but I am sitting in a chair right now getting chemo for pancreatic cancer. The best advice I can give you from my experience is the mantra my husband and I say in this battle - One step at a time, one day at a time, TOGETHER! It has helped us keep our sanity when waiting for test results. You both will be in my thoughts and prayers and if I can answer any questions about treatments in general please let me know.

My mother in law.
Her was diagnosed as ovarian but was more in the paretenial(sp?) Cavity than ovaries.
Ovarian they woukd have done a lot with the mass removal etc. Paretenial they could not as it was soo spread out in the cavity there wasn't much to do.
Actual ovarian mass woukd have been better in her case. One place to target. Woukd have had a much much higher success rate. I hear Houston has a new proton therapy that is the fricking tits when it comes to mass type cancer. Guy at work son runs the machine. He said it's working miracles. Insurance won't always py though
I hope your outcome is fricking great man!

My girlfriend had it 12 years ago. I was in the room with her when the doctors used a dildo-looking device to measure her tumors. She was 30 at the time and they removed her ovaries. She had to go on hormone therapy because this caused early menopause but the cancer never came back. She died two months ago but it was unrelated to cancer. Time for y'all to fight. My advice: don't be sad victims. Be mad at the cancer. Fight like hell.

Unfortunately this might be necessary. I was the point when my dad had brain cancer. His physician and surgeon came in his room one day together and started giving conflicting reports and politely arguing with each other in front of my mom. I grabbed both of them by the shirt and physically threw them both out of the room and drug them in an empty room next door and gave them the come to Jesus talk. Doctor's, especially surgeons, can be arrogant, lying assholes. Watch them and lean more to what your physician says over the surgeon, they are usually more down to earth.

Prayers to you and your family. My daughter is going through chemotherapy, now. It sucks. I hope this is all a false alarm.
You will feel helpless at times, but when she is depressed, encourage her. When she's sad, make her laugh. When she can't help herself, attend all her needs. When she can't walk, carry her.
