This is an older truck I'm saving for a 16 year old. It's 2WD and I would like to level it out a bit for him.

I've been reading about Bilstein struts and shocks and they seem to get good reviews.

Any other decent brands you guys have used that are worth recommending.

Apparently so. I guess I'm good at strut research. At least there's one thing.

That sumbitch already gets only 13MPG around town. I can't imagine what it gets in the 4WD version.

I grew up in the mountains and see no need for 4x4 in FL. I know what 4x4 is for and I haven't seen any snow here yet.

The truck forum I was reading recommended the HD model over the 5100s but the 5100s get great reviews too.

I do pull a fairly heavy boat so I may go the HD route.

Go with the 5100s and spaces in the front to level the rake?

If you haul a boat I would probably go 5100s and leave them at the lowest setting. You could go middle and negate some of the factory rake, but it could result in a broish lean when hauling your boat.

Yikes. I didn't think about that.

We call that the Palatka lean here in honor our good ole baws done there in the sticks.

Do you tow anything with decent tongue weight?

If so, do you get the reverse lean that looks ridiculous?
