Anyone have a mosquito misting system installed in the yard?

I recently put a pool/hot tub and outdoor kitchen in the back. The skeeters have begun to emerge in the evenings to the point that we can no longer be outside between 7:30 and 9:30. It is worse than I have ever seen.
I have tried the mosquito magnets with the Propane tanks and that was like pissing on a forest fire--useless.
I am now looking at the MistAway system. My property is 100' across the back and the yard is about 45' deep. Over the back fence (6' cedar) is about 50 acres of cow pasture which adds to the problem.
Has any O-Ter installed one of these misting systems and do they really work at keeping the skeeters at bay?

It sprays chemical into the air? That would seem to suck in it's own right.

I've never heard of this but would think it's gotta be like having your own mosquito truck in your back yard, which would be nice.

No it sprays a 100% natural extract from flowers. You can drink it. Coastal Mister is the best but one of the most expensive.

Parents have it. Works great. Programmed to spray late in the night and during the summer once during the day. Sprays for about thirty seconds. Does a great job. No skeeters. Would highly recommend getting one, especially since it sounds like you use your backyard frequently and the skeeters are out.

I have been to a few camps with it. Back yard(with misters) had zero bugs, but when you went into the front yard(without misters), you'd be eating them as you walked

Sounds awesome. I've tried natural repellents on my kids, like peppermint oil, but they smell worse than Off and don't work as good

Bug Stomper Co.
I have a fly system in my barn. Works great. They are good folks with a great system.
You're welcome.

yep...I have relatives who have one and it works great...not only on mosquitos, but they never have to clean spider webs off their house either...

Mosquito magnets work great, it just takes them about 3 weeks to kill the mosquitoes in your area.
The problem with them is that they are unreliable POSs that only last about a year.

How much are the misting systems.

We installed one of these systems and they absolutely do work.
It sprays for about 15 seconds twice in the morning and twice in the evening.
The chemical is safe for pets and fish/turtle ponds.

Yeah they work. The only negative is it sprays that shite all over your outdoor furniture, grill, etc. You can also have your lawn sprayed with mosquito spray but I think it only keeps the mosquitos away for a day or so. It's good if you're planning an outdoor party.

If you don't want the initial cost and hassle of installing a misting system that will after a few years likely fail in some way just get a couple of therma-cell units and put them around the area. Fire them up at least 15 minutes ahead of time and you won't have any mosquito problems.
not really expensive at all

Yeah, that was a concern....but the alternative is getting bombarded by the bugs.
