First of all, someone who pursues that field for the reasons you're implying is a complete creep, and a pathetic one.

And to address the point, the stuff you see there cannot be unseen.

Exactly. You're not getting supermodels in there saying, "I nicked it shaving. Can you check it out?"

You're getting, "I lost my tampon a couple weeks back and the smell coming out made me feel like it was time to get it checked out."

I dated a girl that worked in a women's clinic. she said the smells alone made her want to vomit daily.

I'm sure they get to see their fair share of nice vag. Think of every girl you know on birth control. They have to go in. And you know po folk ain't getting birth control. They also have to do breast exams

But is that really worth dealing with middle-aged obese women with yeast infections?...

I think where you practice would make a huge difference.

La Jolla, CA not so bad. Lots of trophy wives. Has to increase the odds of seeing a nicer slice of poon

NO. Remember, OBGYN is a doctor, people go to him/her because they're sick. Yes, there's a good vag every now and then, but it gets lost in the hundreds of sick vags (vages, vag's?) you see and smell everyday. I didnt go into that field for several reasons, one of them being that I like to keep the vagina a sacred and holy place (in my mind). If I had to work around sick ones all day, it would ruin the awe and boyish wonder I still have for the vag. Plus, If you look at population demographics, the thin healthy fit young people are not winning. The majority of pregnant people are obese and uneducated. Those two factors do not bode well for a healthy vag.

All that and the first baby I delivered in med school was to an 11 year old girl whose step father raped her and her mother made her keep the baby (pregnancy). She was terrified the whole time. After experiencing that, I could never be an OB/GYN.

I'm sure that dealing with vomitus vags and asses aren't just an OBGYN's domain. Just think of what nurses and PAs must go through. One of the reasons I never seriously considered the field.

Some of the urogyn and gyn-onc surgeries are cool. Could never do OB for a living. Although its quite the experience to deliver a baby.

You understand you're likely looking at nasty/problematic vages right?

There's also his counterpart in Austin, Dr. Dick Chopp the urologist. Famous quote "There are more vasectomies to be done".
