LINK

I am 0-30 on these ideas. Seem pretty simple but a lot of them probably would need to be constructed during a re-model.

Clearly someone did, as there is a list (and pics).

Most of those seem to make life harder.

Who would build a tiny fricking door in the garage to shove groceries through?

Many of those "space savers" actually waste space.

Stainless steel contact paper on appliances ---> LULZ.

I have a Murphy bed / desk combo in my office. I didn't see much on that list that was foreign to me.

"to make them look more expensive".

WGAFF how expensive your dishwasher looks? I'd imagine by the time most normal, well adjusted adults are buying homes and starting a life, things like whose appliances look more expensive wouldn't really matter.

I am pretty sure that having the outlet wire loose and able to move back and forth (first example) would not be to code.

I see a lot of the free libraries in Uptown NOLA now. In fact I have been getting rid of old paperbacks with them.

The one on Jefferson near Magazine I just put some Star Wars books in and the first Strain book.
There is another on Camp and another on Marengo I know about. Two in Algers.
I have already taken a few books from some and think it's a great thing.

I may put one down the corner from my house.

I do some of those things like the closet space for cleaning supplies, and roll out spice cabinets. My SO loves these kinds of space savers so I'll definitely forward her that link for whenever we eventually get around to designing a house to build.

I've also replaced some of the electrical outlets in the house with these:

when I lived in FL we were on the water, everyone would install a beer bell(remote doorbell) on their dock, you could motor by, ring the bell, and if anyone was home they'd come out and have a beer with you, pretty practical I thought

They have one of those on Kleinert Street in BR. I pass it sometimes on the way to the dog park.

I don't think little free libraries are bad at all, there are tons in my area and they're a great thing. But I damn sure wouldn't put one in my front yard.

Samsung used to sell fake SS fridges. The "Stainless" was a contact like paint that went over black metal.
Generally if the fridge can have magnets stuck on it, the door is just covered in SS and not really Stainless Steel. SS is non ferrous.

I see a lot of fake SS units.
