Anyone ever suffered from gallstones/had gallbladder removed? (warning: gross)

Has anyone here ever had gallstones? I assume so since it’s so incredibly common, but I figured I’d ask first.
What were your symptoms?
I get terrible stomach pains from heavy foods and dairy that last a couple hours then go away, this has been going on for 3 weeks. I also haven’t been “regular” in a few weeks and whatever is exiting me is from a sci-fi movie or something. I am really blocked up and even with help from medicine to “vacate intestines/bowels”, can’t seem to get normal.
I read about it and the pain is normally in the middle/right of the abdomen and mine is lower left primarily, so that doesn’t add up. It does radiate into my back though.
Also, I read that rapid weight loss can cause this and I lost 20 lbs in about 6 weeks recently (I am 6’2”ish and went from 220 to 200) with exercise and low calorie diet.
My primary care doc said all of my blood and urine labs were normal and it’s not my appendix, but he set me up with a GI doc next week. I’m just trying to prepare myself for what he says.

Get a pound of coffee, two packs of Camels, and call me in the morning.

Trust me bro, I have done a lot stronger stuff to make myself shite and it was very successful.
Talking prescription laxative + miralax + metamucil + coffee.
It didn't stop the pains after I eat or make me regular once the shitting stopped.

My gallstones felt like someone sticking a screwdriver in my lower right back.

They'll do an ultrasound and you'll know soon enough. At one time gallbladder was major surgery but now they do it laparascopically and you're back home the next day, up and about in another day or two.

Sounds like it's time to go to the Dreaded Apparatus.

I had a kidney stone the summer after my freshman year at college, I went home to stay with my parents for the summer and drank a shitload of milk (something that wasn't a priority to keep in my dorm) and a stone formed from deposited calcium. I thought my appendix was about to burst, I woke up one morning and started sweating profusely. It's like I was giving birth.

Didn't have gallstones but had my gallbladder taken out because it was only functioning about 20% of normal. Had vague abdominal pains. My father and brother both had gallstones and gallbladder removal. They had abdominal pains bad after eating and nausea and vomiting at times.
From what I saw an ultrasound is of marginal use in diagnosing gallbladder problems. A HIDA scan is much more effective.
The surgery was outpatient and I was working on the computer that night. But it was pretty damn painful coming out of anesthesia.

My wife suffered from gall blatter issues all throughout our marriage. We got it removed a few years ago and she is perfectly healthy now. No more waking nights with excruciating crying level pain

My pain was on my left side, which is what prompted my trip to the dr. It turned out to be gallstones (likely brought on by weight loss as well). Fast forward six months - one night after eating the pain was intense and wrapped around my entire chest. I couldn't lay down or get comfortable and the pain wouldn't subside. Ended up in the ER and had surgery within 24 hours. Fun stuff. I haven't had any pain since then and my acid reflux is gone too.

I have had problems in the past. My best advice is that when it hits, drink a shite load of apple juice. It is the only thing that helps.
I believe you can also do smaller doses of apple cider vinegar, but I cant get it down too good.

Have you been on any anti-biotics lately? Could be Pseudomembranous Colitis.

My attack felt like bad indigestion plus backache. Couldnt sleep any because I couldnt get comfortable/sweating--thought it was food poisoning. Next day, better. Month later after massive cookout same symptoms went to emergency room. Ultrasound said gallstones. Removal was piece of cake--walking around later same day.

I got my gallbladder taken out. Had stomach pain for about 2 months until it got unbearable. They said it was performing at 20%. I was waking up almost every morning throwing up bile and just couldn't take it so went and got tons of tests done and that's what they figured out. Got it out and been fine ever since. Also on meds tho now for life but they said some didn't have to. Just depending. Not real sure about what honestly.

After I had surgery on my face I had to take 1,500 mg of antibiotics a day. I didn't replenish my good bacteria very well and I got very sick. That was almost 4 years ago. To this day, my stomach has never been the same.
