just curious, i know its a tough industry.

i work for a company who has its product sold by many door to door guys and so i work with a ton of door to door managers and owners.

its amazing the amount of money those guys can make. one owner told me that his top sales managers are making 250/300k and most of his reps are making over 100k

all he does is own the business and collect $20 per sale and gets the monthly residual. i know just from my product, we pay him about 8k a month in residual.

its a TON of babysitting and turnover, but the good ones can make a ton

Coupon books for HS football team.

Sold one to PJ Brown back when he played for the Hornets. He pulled out probably $1500 cash from his sweatpants and gave us $10

My first summer off from college I sold these coupon books. We would keep like $9 from each one we sold and the company got $11.
Some of the deals were really good, and every one of them was worth more than $20. Like the carwash one was four hand washes for $20 and all kinds of other coupons.

We made good money doing it, but we also had a lot of doors slammed in our faces and people generally very upset we bothered them. They would take us to neighborhoods and give us a map and you checked off houses you went to.
It was really easy to get 15-20 sales in a night.

Newspapers while I was in College.

Made 300 bucks, in one hour, one evening.

Generally it was "No! Slams door in my face"

Not door to door, but I sold cutco after my senior year of high school. Made 6k working part time in the summer, so I thought it was a pretty great job. The office managers and sales professionals all made well over six figures.
