buprenorphine does but Norbuprenorphine does not. So very little of the opiate you are taking when you take subs is crossing the bbb.

Lol. It doesnt cross the blood brain barrier. Very few people will have the ability to get high off of it. Might as well take Loperamide (the acting ingredient in immodium) to get high. It is however extremely addicting, as are all opiates

you are a fricking idiot. it absolutely does cross the BBB, in fact it does so well, that it dominates the opiate recpetors and knocks any opiate working on them the frick off th receptors, causing immediate withdrawals if you take it too soon after your last fix.

LOL.

you have no clue what you are talking about, you think because naloxone is paired with the bupe it changes anything? 8mg of bupe is a shite ton of oploid.

the norbupe is just a metabolite

Buprenorphine is a semi-synthetic, highly lipophilic opioid derived from thebaine. Buprenorphine is a partial agonist at µ receptors; it has higher affinity for µ receptors but a lower activity at these receptors than the pure agonists. Buprenorphine is 25 to 50 times more potent than morphine, and the recommended intramuscular dose is 0.3 mg, which acts after 30 minutes and lasts for up to 8 hours. Extensive hepatic metabolism means that the bioavailability is low when given orally, but sublingual administration of 0.4mgs of buprenorphine is effective. The adverse effects are similar to morphine but as buprenorphine has very high affinity for µ receptors, it may be only incompletely reversed by naloxone. The major problem with buprenorphine is the high incidence of severe nausea and vomiting experienced especially by patients who are mobile.

and the pills/strips they prescribe are 8MG, think about how much that is.

What a shite show of a thread. A bunch of junkies arguing over whether or not Imodium gets you high or not.

I think I'll head back over to the Rant.

I'm telling you. I took 1/4 of one after a burn injury because I ran out of percocet too soon and I was fricked up for 24 hours.

My fricked up and the guy claimimg it does nothing are probably 2 different things though.. I could still function. Was just high..

I'd advise you to wean yourself off that soon if it's only been three months or you'll be taking that indefinitely.

Seems like a lot. I used the pills. This was almost 10 years ago. I started with 8mg and would drop half the dose every 7-10 days until I was taking 1 to 2 mg a day. I did the 1 or 2 mg a day for about two weeks and quit taking them. I was tired for a few weeks. That was all. Then I relapsed and did loooonng term inpatient treatment. Good Luck

I took opioids for 10 years. I think I'll give it a little longer before I think about weaning off.
