I'm cutting grass yesterday and a guy pulls up in a small pickup with a big freezer in the bed and says he's selling chicken, pork and beef real cheap. My knee jerk reaction is alright well this is sketchy AF and I'm like nah man, I'm good. Then he says "I have kids man and Santa Claus don't bring presents. I have steaks for 3-4 dollars a pound." Again I decline and he scoffs and drives off.

Anyone seen this shite before?

what's the catch here? Only other situation I've had like this was back in college at LSU when guys would catch me in the parking lot and try to sell me stereos for cheap. And I think to myself well obviously it's stolen.

So are these guys knocking over meat trucks? Or is this poor quality shite? I just don't get it.

Yes.

You get what you pay for. What sounds like a great deal turns out to be a good deal after you defrost the items and they shrink up to half the size.

The quality isn't horrible but it is mediocre.

After the first one I made a few more purchases from those type of guys and sent the items back to BR with my son at LSU. Poor college students love it.

Yes. Came to my door. Same truck. Only had cow. No pork or poultry.
I am sure that the price was right for someone tired of beans and rice.

all the time. They are a legit company and run ads in the local paper for salesmen.

that being said the product is mediocre quality and not for everyone but for those that it is for it's a nice deal.

Yeah I've bought some from one guy before.

The meat was better than I expected, it was one of those rare times that it worked out really well

My Dad bought stuff from a Legit Company.Out of Birmingham.Lobster Tails and other good stuff.

But the scam guys that come by all say the same thing.

"I was in the area making deliveries and have a couple of extra boxes of meat".Trying to make you think that it's a product someone ordered.

What I saw looked like it had been frozen 10 years.

I've bought some ribeyes in the past. I inspected them thoroughly and they looked to have good marbling, although a little on the thinner side. As someone said, they shrunk once cooked- like squeezing the water out if a sponge. I knew it was too good to be true but they are good enough with the packaging/presentation that I had to find out what the catch was.

Several years ago I come home and my wife proudly says,
"look at the great deal I got on steaks".

He told her the people who ordered had to go out of town due to an emergency.
