Anyone dealt with tension or migraine headaches?

I have been dealing with a dull headache around the top of my head, behind my eyes, and down the back of my head for the last week or so. I went into the doctor a little over a week ago for an ear infection. The doctor said it was due to sinuses and gave me an antibiotic and a cortisone shot. I finished the last pill for the antibiotics yesterday and I still have all the symptoms I had when I first went in. I'm starting to think I have tension headaches or migraines. I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow, so we shall see. A bit worried it could be something worse, but I think that's my nerves messing with me.

Encephalitis...
But seriously, I don't smoke, but when I get that feeling a single cigarette is the only thing that relieves the pain.

Yes. Mine started at age 40, which is apparently rare. I started taking a fizzy magnesium supplement at night, which seems to lessen them.

Go get your eyes checked
Might be eye strain

I get optical migraines. No pain, but visual effects. Like looking through a pane of jagged glass.

I have both. Migraines hit me like a ton of bricks and are brutal. Tension headaches are really bad, but I can function.
Try Excedrin migraine and some caffeine.
I need a cold dark room and quiet. A nice cold washcloth over my eyes helps as does massage.
Hope you feel better.

Ask for ketorolac aka toradol... I get migraines and this is what I use with Excedrin... works every time... also take a multivitamin, those help a lot

Clusters for me.
They sucked.

I have a cyst in my brain that causes me to have tension headaches several days a week. Kratom has been a life saver but the DEA ruined that for us

Thanks fellas. I'm mid to late 20's and I have never really had any issues. I have dealt with some anxiety problems when I was finishing college but haven't had any of those issues in a while.

I started getting bad Migraines in my early 20's, and had all kinds of test done. But it ended up being my eyes, and got some glasses.

My #1 choice is Toradol. I have the pills and I have a few vials of it so if my headache is bad enough I can get my husband to give me a shot.
You can also take a clean sock, put uncooked rice in it, tie it closed and microwave it. It's pliable so it conforms to wherever you put it. It works for me and i have migraines bad enough where I have had to go to the hospital.
Hope you feel better soon

Try taking two Benadryl, free ibuprofen, two Tylenol, and a large bottle of Gatorade, and take a nap

When y'all say time, how long are y'all talking? I have had this dull headache for about 7-8 days straight.

I'm no doctor, but that doesn't sound normal. When I had migraines years ago they would last for an hour or two. Much worse pain, though, obviously.

Doesn't sound like the migraines I have. I see a "aura" then lose eye sight in my left eye before the headache type pain even begins.
Ask your doc about imatrex. I take that, tramadol, and find a dark room when I feel one coming on.

Lisinopril works wonders for migraine prevention.
