My buddy's dad got struck on two different occasions,riding in a boat both times. Has a burn mark from a gold chain around his neck, and one around his wrist from a watch

Struck by an electric splinter after lightning hit a power line 10 feet away. Knocked me down, singed some hair, and overall made a couple of seconds seem really weird. Never felt a shock, but more like a buzz went through me. Don't care to experience again.

No but was at Sacred Heart CYO baseball field in Baton Rouge when lightning stuck tower and struck a little league baseball player back in the 80's. He lived for several years before passing away.

There was a high school football coach not far from where I grew up who was killed by lightning. It happened one afternoon during football practice. I don't know if this is true or not but I heard that it melted the change in his pocket together. They renamed the high school stadium in his honor a few years later.

I worked with a guy who was hit by lightning during a softball game. It blew most of his clothes off of his body. His heart never beat normally again. But he was alive more than a decade afterwards and as far as I know he lived a mostly normal life.

worked with a guy who was zapped as a kid. He went from being a C/D student to straight A super smart kid. Couldn't remember his class schedule for a couple of weeks afterward. Went on to be pretty successful guy.
