Anybody have a Murphy Bed in one of their guest rooms?

Wife and I are building a house and I'm mulling this option for our guest room. I hate the idea of having a wasted guest room for all but 1-2 weeks a year. I'm thinking about making the guest room a playroom and putting a Murphy Bed in. Thoughts, tips, or suggestions would be appreciated.

Get a legit futon in a playroom if you don't want a real guest room, you would want a couch in one anyways.

A friend of mine's aunt was staying at my friends grandparents. They had a Murphy bed.
While she was sitting on the floor in the middle of the room, the Murphy bed flew down and hit her in the head. C4 fracture. Quadriplegic for rest of her life. I'll never have one.

Don't know all the details. This was only about 6 months ago. Aunt is in her 50's. Terrible accident.

Ole Murphy must have been a talented guy. Made a bed and a law. Sounds like both were in play in your post.

I hope they moved out of the Amityville house soon after that incident.
