I left my sink running full blast in Baton Rouge once and went to work on a rig for 3 weeks. Came home and at first couldn't figure out how it got turned on. Thought someone was in the house.
Finally remembered getting distracted before I left. Was nervous thinking my bill would be astronomical. Was 8$ more.

And four gallons is a bit of an exaggeration but what else would you expect?

'd gladly turn off the water while I brush my teeth if someone could tell me how me doing this in Alabama will help some kid in Bangladesh have more water.
It has a lot more to do with water integrity in Alabama.
quote:
Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs) are of primary concern, stemming from inadequate wastewater infrastructure, and resulting in untreated sewage overflow into Alabama’s creeks and streams.
quote:
SSOs (Sanitary Sewer Overflows) are incidents where untreated sewage is discharged from a sewer system directly into the environment. SSOs are tracked by utility companies by number of overflows per 100 miles of sewer pipe and are individually reported to ADEM due to their propensity to cause health concerns. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has set a target benchmark of less than 4 SSOs per 100 miles of sewer pipe per year. While many Alabama systems meet this benchmark, larger systems in the Birmingham and Mobile areas consistently have 7-10 SSOs per 100 miles of pipe per year.
quote:
Community septic systems in Alabama tend to become problematic over time and contribute to the contamination of
groundwater and surface water. Many of the septic system installations in Alabama occur in rural areas of the Black
Belt where low-permeability soils exist and lead to system failures. In the northern counties karst terrain and fractured
rock produce water quality concerns with these systems.
quote:
Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) are a measure of the capacity of the state’s water resources to take on residual
contamination loadings. An allocation of pollutant loads is established by ADEM and watershed plans are
implemented to achieve reduced pollutant levels in surface waters where necessary. Surface waters (rivers, lakes,
estuaries, bays) or portions of surface waters which do not meet water quality standards are considered impaired
waters. Currently, excess nutrient concentrations account for 30% of Alabama’s impaired rivers and streams and
44% of impaired lakes and reservoirs. Wastewater effluent is a primary contributor of increased concentrations of
nutrient levels.

If you reduce wastewater generation and utilize inflow prevention techniques...your systems wouldn't be overstressed and your water wouldn't be full of shite.

I didn't understand the commercial because I only brush my teeth with Fuji bottled water.

Liberals don't understand the water cycle, something 3rd graders can grasp easily.
All they care about is guilting people in a comfortable position into feeling bad about their comfort, whether they can actually feasibly help whatever dumb cause du jour they are championing. They then dupe the emotional retards into giving them money, some of which they use to keep the scam going, but most of which goes into their pockets as personal income. The lemmings who actually realize this ignore what is obvious and justify giving as a way to feel better about themselves, but mostly they just want to feel better than others.
The show Curb Your Enthusiasm is a great study in this vapid shite, just look at Larry's wife and her friends' environmental crusades which are causes concocted for the sole purpose of holding benefit banquets for the rich and influential to revel in their own smugness.
The whole state of LA could stop using running water totally for 10 years and it wouldn't mean shite to a bunch of hut-dwellers in the 3rd world.
Hell it wouldn't mean shite to the hut-dwellers in Flint, Michigan.
TL/DR: Giving to a "charitable organization" in general is for self-serving and/or gullible assholes.
