There's part of your problem. Don't stick fricking Q tips into your ears. It irritates your outer ear canal and pushes the wax further into you ear and can irritate your tympanic membrane.

Put a damp cloth in a zip lock bag and warm it in the microwave - hold it over your ear.

Peel some raw garlic & put a fresh piece in your ear canal. You're welcome.

Any recommendations for an earache?

Most earaches are caused by anaerobic bacteria that multiples when there is no air transfer between the nasal cavity and the ear canal for whatever reason. Once the aerobic bacteria depletes the oxygen in the trapped air the anaerobic bacteria take over causing inflammation and pain. The best way to get rid of the earache is to take an anti-inflammatory, pinch your nose and force air from your nasal cavity thru your eustachian tube, do this over and over for two to three minutes. The air you introduce will kill the anaerobic bacteria and the anti-inflammatory will reduce the swelling. When you feel a tingle in your ear that means the anaerobic bacteria are multiplying again so repeat the oxygen introduction.

Did you get assaulted in your aural canal when you were in Azkabanland?

I know an ENT who frequently says the smallest thing a person should put in their own ear is their elbow.

A friend had the same thing happen to him. He went to the doctor and the doc pulled a wad of hardened ear wax from his ear canal. Instant relief. Go see the doctor. Don't use qtips to clean the ear canal.
