Dude Go to Indeed.com and type in Process Technician, LA
Right now the plants that are hiring:
Shell, Convent
Shell, Port Allen
Cornerstone Chemical, New Orleans area
Targa, Venice
Honeywell, Shreveport
Pentair, Baton Rouge
If you don't have Ptec or 5 years experience youre basically SOL

Go to every plant in the area website. Dow, Shintech, Motiva, BASF, SNF, Syngenta, etc, etc, etc and check for job openings. If you know anyone in an area of where plants are located, check with them to see who you can talk to about working in the plant..

Try looking on the internet
Go to each plant website and fill out an employee application

3 ways to get hired as an operator:
1. Know someone high up
2. Don't be white
3. Don't be a male
I've been trying like hell to get on somewhere with no luck. 2 years experience as a barge/ship loader and I have a B.S. degree. Applied at CF and went through 2 interviews, grew up with one of the superintendents there as my neighbor. Still didn't get the job. Meanwhile they're hiring idiots left and right who aren't qualified because they're a minority and they have to fill quotas. Then they have to turn around and fire them because they either don't show up for work or they aren't smart enough to learn the shite. Yeah, I'm bitter,

I said 3 ways, don't necessarily need all 3.

What was funny in my CF interview is they stressed a lot how learning their shite is like going to college all over again. I'm like alright, I'm not an idiot, that's fine with me. Yet I know tons of guys who work there who lack a college education. Ironic. Same thing applies to other places as well. I know I'll get hired on somewhere eventually, just impatient watching less qualified and intelligent people passing me by.
