Any of you have Amblyopia?

I didn't wear the patch diligently as a kid so it's permanent. Vision in one eye is 20/220. Every eye doc Ive been to over the years says the eye is structurally perfect but its the link with the brain at issue and after age 7 or so it's over.
I've been reading recently about some breakthroughs (supposed) with eye therapy and procedures but it's probably BS. Even if that works slightly, the cost to improve the sight to 20/200 or 20/180 seems pointless.
Any of you heard of advances for this issue?
TIA my blind bastard pals
edit: removed 'lazy eye' from subject for the dumb fricks that think it's a drooping or goofy eye.

Might be a dumb question but how does wearing an eye patch regularly effect your eye sight?

yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for you

The issue is the brain doesn't fully recognize that eye. If you patch the good eye the brain is forced to use the bad eye and it somehow links up. It has to be caught early and handled by age 7 or so. After that, the brain only thinks you have one eye basically and ignores the bad one.

I get more trim in a bad week than you have all of your sorry-assed mistake of a life.
What was the question again? I have trouble focusing.

My wife says I have two of them that usually take effect about 8 pm every day.

if only we had a poster that was real enough to admit they too had a lazy eye.
Think of all the people they could have helped.

You guys are confusing lazy eye with drunken droopy eye.
The eye doesn't droop or look the opposite direction. You wouldn't be able to tell anything is wrong with it unless you knew.

I had a stroke of my right eye when i was 18 and then the left eye when I was 28. The right eye is effectively useless and has now gotten all goofy.

I did the patch and stuff for years as a kid, and have been in glasses all my life - simply to keep my eye straight. for a while I didn't have a prescription for reading or anything as it as just designed to keep my eye straight.
as I have gotten older though, I have had to pick up prescriptions for reading and so on.
I was told I could have Lasic, but it would only last me for a few years and would likely go back to what it is now.
for me, it is a weakness of the eye Muscles trying to keep it straight - BUT it doesn't impact my vision at all.

It's hard to blame a second grader for not wanting to wear an eye patch to school but I bet it's one of those things you look back on wish you could do over.

Playing FPS games is supposed to be good for vision. Maybe it will help you.

There's other suggestions on that website but if you do try that out I'd recommend computer glasses.
Good luck
