Might have just been a form. I have a different clearance, too, so maybe it's different.

The form is the same. His would just be good longer than yours. Unless you have some kind of crazy clearance I don't know about.

That's what I thought, but wasn't sure. Never had a secret.

*edit*

I did have to do a series of interviews though.

Tejas,

You got any info on BOLC A & B and how that all goes? My understanding is that after OCS, you go to your BOLC courses and then are assigned to whatever unit you're going to? Also, being that i'll be a boot-arse LT, do I have any ability to request which duty station I can go to?

OCS is BOLC A now.

BOLC B is your AOC. For example, E-BOLC is Engineer-Basic Officer Leaders Course or BOLC B.

After you complete BOLC B you'll get a unit assignment. That'll probably come 2-3 weeks before graduation.

If you go Infantry, Engineer, Armor, expect the fun games to continue at least for half your course. For prior service, like me, it got annoying after awhile. There's a difference in training for a purpose and just doing dumb shite because someone wants to do dumb shite.

Edit:

Also, this thread took a weird turn last night/this morning. was with the rape talk?

Cajun is correct on BOLC.

As far as assignments go - as a 2LT they'll send you wherever they feel like sending you. They might ask you to list your top choices for duty station but all that does is make people mad when they get sent somewhere they didn't list.

There are some exceptions but this is pretty accurate for most 2LTs.

I own a small company. We do most of our business with military and health care organizations. I'm almost all hands off now, so really, I don't do a whole lot of anything.

While the sexual harassment training / emphasis may seem excessive, it's also important in an integrated force that we stamp out that behavior at it's root. Nothing wrong with treating each other with dignity and respect.

Unfortunately, the policy as set up is very much a guilty until proven innocent proposition.

Moreover, they've defined sexually harassment in an absurdly expansive manner.

And. When males started fighting and winning because so many cases were bull shite, the Army scammed that too. They just stopped even trying to give Article 15s and instead went with GOMARs. Theoretically, a GOMAR isn't punishment, so, there's no REAL appeal and no right to confront evidence.

Aha. But the Army THEN instituted policy whereby a GOMAR in your records put you in line to be booted out, refused reenlistment, etc etc.

Basically. They figured out how to frick to and you can't even defend yourself.

I have two very good friends who got completely railroaded with this.

The officers aren't stupid. They err on the side of career preservation. They'll never get in trouble for over zealously recommending GOMAR but they'll get crucified if they don't act on a shaky case and later, the perp strikes again.

If you get accused and can't prove you were on a different state when it happened, sorry sucker.

And let's not even get into the ridiculous "it's rape if she said yes but was drinking" stupidity.

Don't let him get you excited. He's not being serious. He also won't accept my offer of a patty melt at 100 yards.

I freely admit we have problems.

I freely admit there are those that try to cover them up.

But he is attempting to tar the majority of us who work to ensure all under our care are protected and cared for. He is just trolling scum.

Very well put, sir.

I take all the responsibility of all those under my command serious.

Until you look into a room full of spouses and children and promise them that everyday while deployed you'll do everything in your control to bring their loved ones home safe and sound from that deployment, he'll never understand.

What it's like? Is it difficult? What's the POV/phone situation to speak with my family?
I can offer you an opinion (I am an ROTC grad). If you made it through USMC boot camp then OCS is (physically and mentally) going to be a breeze. You are older now so you need to get your body back into shape. There will be a lot of useless subjects taught and you will just have to grin and bear it. Be a part of the solution by encouraging and helping others. You know the deal. In regards to privileges (POV/phone), it is the same military BS. You will (I would have to believe) transition through different "phases" gaining "freedom" incrementally. Just the way it is. You are focused on a goal. Do what is necessary to achieve it.

And try to branch Medical Service Corps
