Dental insurance aint going to do you much good right now, usually have a 6 or 12 month waiting period, then max of 1000 or 1500 a year

call LSU school of dentistry

You have to be recommended by another dentist for them to accept you. I would recommend the OP go to a dentist, get an estimate, and then be honest that you can't afford that right now. They'll probably try and offer you credit (depending on if you qualify) and if you aren't interested, then I would ask about the LSU School of Dentistry.

You can get pretty cheap dental coverage through a company called DINA. As far as I know there's no waiting period but you have to choose a dentist in their network and that's the only person you can go to.

get a referral from another doctor/dentist and call the LSU dental clinic in BR. It is off Perkins road, near Bluebonnet, in the LSU surgical facility. They should get you in pretty quickly. Prices are usually 1/3 to 1/2 half of what you would pay at a private practice. Or go to dental school in NOLA, they are a little cheaper than the clinic here.

I can afford a monthly bill around 200 or so I mean I'm not making minimum wage. But I was just wondering if anyone knows a good dentist to go to. I want to get 1 tooth pulled now and maybe one in the future.
