CAMERON PARISH, LA (KPLC) -
An $11 billion liquefied natural gas export project was announced Thursday to be placed on the banks of the Calcasieu River Ship Channel in Cameron Parish.
The facility, operated by Louisiana-based company G2 LNG, will export 14 million tons of LNG. It will be the fourth-largest capital investment in the history of Louisiana, according to company officials.
"The G2 LNG project has several unique advantages that have led to advanced discussions with potential customers in Asia, Europe, India and the Caribbean," said former Gov. Buddy Roemer, G2 chairman.
The project will create 3,500 construction jobs and more than 250 permanent jobs with salaries averaging more than $85,000 per year, G2 officials said.
Construction is expected to begin in mid-2017 and the facility is expected to be up and running by 2020.
The planned unit will sit on 766 acres along the ship channel.

It's pretty crazy what's going on here. Labor is getting harder to find much less someone with some sense and skills.
The RE market is already crazy and we are just at the start of these projects.

What's the word on that last one they had to delay or whatever due to market conditions?
Do all of these get built?

Seems like a good time to open up a few more Casinos in Lake Charles.

I visited LC once and I loved it. My buddy took me fishing the entire time over the weekend. I had a blast.

They only temporarily delayed part of the Sasol project as far as I know, but they are still expected to build it eventually. The main part of that project is still going forward as anyone who drives behind the hundreds of dump trucks on Old Town Rd can attest to.

And strip clubs
We need to go in business and put one up next to one of the "man camps" they are building here.

As much as the locals fought the camps they'd really have a shite fit over a strip club
