I'm about to crash (pun intended) for the night so I can watch Byron Cowart pick the good guys in the morning, no more updates but I've heard now 4 confirmed dead

Same exact plane.

Granted the plane that crashed in July last year was making its second landing attempt during a typhoon.

Yep. ATR-72, most incidents involving that type have to do with ice accumulation on the wings. The weather in Taipei was in the 50s around the time so that could prob be ruled out.

Going by the reports, over 50 on board, 10 were believed to be trapped and since then they only retrieved 8 dead so most survived. Unbelievable. Most people crawled out of plane and were rescued.

Asia is getting worse than Africa with plane crashes.

His van was clipped by the wing! I would have shite myself twice screamed like a girl. Crazy that anyone walked away. If he was able to, good on the pilot for trying to steer a falling rock away from the populated areas.

Maybe it's time to be politically incorrect and blame Asian drivers?

There's actually a cultural factor that makes it difficult for subordinates to point out a superior's mistakes. So if the pilot is screwing up, the copilot is reluctant to say anything.

23 dead and still 20 missing. God that's terrible.

Amazing that anyone walked (swam) away from that.

Well that's just asking for trouble.
