Anniversary of Houston Flooding

Was technically a few days ago, but I was on a nice 3 day vacation. Anyways, I do outside work and it was severely impacted, here are some pictures I came across this AM.
FWIW, that flagstick is 8' in height.
Water was about 4-5' deep across this area.
From the road bridge over the creek that flooded.
Cart bridge. The green, just beyond the bridge(middle right of picture) creek level is normally about 20-25' below the putting surface.
About 6-8" of sand that was deposited after water receded.
Yeah I know..CSB.

I see your Houston flood and raise you a northern St. Amant flood from August 2016. The water rose so fast that morning. This was 100 yards down the highway from my house and was taken as myself, wife and 1 year old were rescued from our house by the Cajun Navy ( ).
This stop sign sits about 6 feet below the main highway, which itself was raised 2 feet after the flood of 1983 so as to never be overtopped again. That boat ride from my house to safety about three miles away was heartbreaking and shocking.

I thought the flooding was on memorial weekend last year? What course was that?

Just remember seeing the images of the interstate.

Willow Creek
Ryno - I was fortunate enough to go through 2, 500-year flood events..in about 40 days. Tax Day/Memorial Weekend. Was a major PIA.

Man the residents of that golf course must really be struggling to get their homes back in order.

That week sucked. Nightmare getting to and from work. Two hours one day but I guess I was lucky with no house damage.
