A buddy was backing out of a parking spot and hit a vehicle that turned the corner after he started backing out. Barely hit, no damage to either vehicle and the other person refused medical attention at the scene. A couple of months later this person has a lawyer and is suing for injuries and shite. Unbelievable.

just because someone is suing doesn't mean they will win, that or it will just get MSJ'd with the quickness

No, no it won't. My office is filled with this kind of shite.

"Based upon the history provided, I feel it's more likely than not that the injuries diagnosed and treated by me were a direct result of the motor vehicle accident of ___________"

The end.

I had a guy cut me off in traffic and brake check me. Hit his trailer hitch going less than 5 mph.

He claimed back pain, with no physician evaluation, and my insurance company gave him $1200. I dropped that company.

That is why auto insurance is so high.

My cousin was driving down I 55 a couple of years ago and was pulled over by a state trooper. The trooper said a woman had called in that he hit her vehicle. The trooper couldn't find any damage on either vehicle. He had to write a report. She sued and his insurance company gave her $2500 to go away. BTW he changed lanes and she said when he changed lanes he hit her. He said he never got within 2 car lengths of her.

That's nothing.

My buddys daughter BUMPED into the back of a car on Nicholson being driven by a LSU Gymnast. There wasn't any damage but she called police. Police didn't want to write a report but she insisted. The next month she wins the NCAA in the vault and floor. Her performances are on ESPN and YouTube. A month after that, she sues and says she is permanently disabled. The insurance lawyers, despite all the evidence showing she wasn't injured in the least, still wrote her a check to "go away."

She gets money for lying and my buddys insurance goes up by a factor of 2.5X. There isn't any reason, besides not being a scumbag, for people to not sue and get a check. Even the insurance company makes out on the deal. They gave her $3k and his insurance went up by more than that in the first year. Accident stays on record for 7(?) years along with the increased rates. Lawyers all get a piece, court gets paid fees. Everyone makes out except the policy holder.

The person backing out is always 100% at fault no matter what. That's why you call the insurance company right then and there and handle shite. People are too shady these days.

Insurance companies see it as cheaper to just pay these frauds off but if they fought them all there would probably be alot less.

It pisses me off.

I saw this right out of my window last month - a huge arse city of Milwaukee public bus scrapes against a little pickup truck and a half-hour later, three of the fat poors on the bus are sitting on the sidewalk with neckbraces on waiting to be transported to the hospital for "medical attention" It was so laughable - there was literally no damage and the pickup truck was gone in 2 minutes.

I volunteered to be a witness as the whole thing is ridiculous but the firemen who were there were like "don't sweat it"

After I had been in an accident people had asked if I was hurt. I said, nah just some damage to the car. They said, well I would have faked it. WTF is wrong with people? Even my lawyer jokingly said, you sure your neck doesnt hurt? at least I hope he was joking.

No. Can't get a jury for claims not exceeding $50K.

Dang.

Can your buddy countersue the gymnast for fraud, emotional distress, economic damages, etc?

I have no experience with these layabouts. Are you saying a judge will usually side with them?
