Likely... Have some freaking discipline and stop using an Rx as the easy way out.

Was 287. So I'm working on it. So simmer down. And the highest BP I've seen was on a woman who went about 140-145.

Highest cholesterol was a guy who went about 155.

The way you counteract that is by taking Vicodin + Viagra. I call 'em V-2's. You'll be fricking like a rabbit in no time.

Congrats on the high blood pressure. I would say you are going to swell but at 255lbs, you probably won't notice

I've been taking Amlodipine for several years. It didn't bring my BP down by itself so my Doctor added something called Ziac.

The Ziac is a combination BP med and Diuretic.

The combination brought my BP under control.

I've had no side effects from them.I can't tell that I've even taken anything.

I don't want to have a Stroke so I take them every morning after breakfast.

eta:I see my PCP every 6 months. He always checks to see if my ankles are swelled any. They never have been.

I'm 6'4" 240.I could stand to lose 15-20 lbs.

Everyone in my family takes BP meds so it's in my genes I suppose.

eta:I'm also 54 so that factors in I'm pretty sure.

How big do you people think 255 is?

Louisiana have an influx of Asian, Scandinavian, and Euros I am not aware of? There a Vegan Coonass movement going on?

I am on irberstarn which is an ARB.

I am 6', 180, eat a low sodium diet, and work out regularly. Even with the drugs, my BP still runs high.

At least you are fat, and can try to lose some weight.

Amlodipine is the generic for Norvasc. Exforge is the brand name of a combo drug containing amlodipine and valsartan.

Amlodipine can cause edema. I've recently had to cut my dose in half to deal with the swelling problem.

Swelling (fluids). My Dr. took me off it and put me on a hefty diuretic.

Yep.

Run, swim, t25

Diet has been slipping. But it's not horrible so it's easy to correct.

Chlorthalidone is an option that I've read about. Simple, cheap, and few side effects. Eat a banana.

Sure is. And that's one of the reasons I take amlodipine--so I can load up on Norco.
