It can also be tough for LGBT people, who are not protected under the state's public accommodation law and can be refused some services under the state's "religious freedom" law.

It says a strength for Louisiana is air quality.

These polls are stupid.

Cool. You can give our bourbon back then.

And surprised Kentucky didn't get dinged for having some of the most relaxed gun laws in the country. Tobacco has pretty well withered away here though.

Typical article written by some "journalist" that grew up in NYC and actually travelled as far as NJ once when he was a kid. Can't stand the idea of walking on grass if it isn't in Central Park and saw a squirrel once but thought it was a raccoon.

I think this is the same article someone runs about every six months. They just update the stats. Great as far as I am concerned. Keeps all the Yankees and Cali people from coming over here and messing up my state.

Tennessee is the lowest debt state in the nation and Middle TN is the #1 Housing market in the US. Couple that with amazing topography, no state income tax, and low cost of living, me thinks this article is fricking nonsense. The 1500 families a month relocating to middle TN would agree if I'm a gambling man.

But yeah Memphis sucks

Baw, Kentucky has been run by a Dem Gov for years. We have had only 2 republicans running this state...Fletcher and now Bevin. The good old boy corrupt left has been running Kentucky for years.

I can probably agree with that list as I live right in the epicenter of those states.

So, from what I gather, the Carolinas and Georgia represent the best parts of the South.
