Old money always wins!

quote:

Forget what you've heard about the tech boom on the West Coast – the country's richest families are shacking up in the suburbs of the Northeast. For its annual roundup, 24/7 Wall St. looked at median household income levels in U.S. towns with populations under 25,000 to determine the wealthiest town in every state. Curious which ones came out on top? So were we, so we focused in on the highest earners on 24/7 Wall St.'s list. Clocking in at number one: Scarsdale, New York, boasting a median income of $241,453 and followed closely by neighbors in New Jersey and Connecticut. In fact, more than half the cities in the top ten are on the East Coast. Hello, old money.

Im surprised more Virginia towns aren't in the top 10. Three of the top five wealthiest zip codes are in the Virginia suburbs. All of those defense contractors.

dang. I have friends that grew up in this neighborhood. I knew it was a rich place to live, but had no idea it was in the top 10.

I felt out of place just doing a Google Street View in this town.

Nice. Don't know about the others, but this one is unique in that it is technically its own "town," but it is pretty central to the city. It's definitely not a suburb. It would almost be like saying the Upper East Side in Manhattan was a suburb of NYC, if we are talking location related to downtown.

Yea, that is about a 10 minute ride to downtown and you can take the metro. It is located between downtown and reliant

Beautiful area. Reminds me of uptown nola

So yea, it isn't consolidated, but anyone would consider it part of houston.

This place is so fricking boring.

ETA: upside is you're a quick-hop into NY, but so many people that live in Westchester County hate going into the City after being there all week.

We need to force diversity within these communities. No reason the whites need all that land and money.
