Usually once every four or five years the weather changes trigger a waterfall behind my nose, making my life unbearable for a few weeks. Woke up on Friday feeling like I snorted two ping pong balls and started choking on Niagra Snotfalls. Anyone have a good brand of OTC non-drowsy meds that they have as their go-to? Tried claritin and it really isn't doing much for me, but I saw a kajillion different brands.

Try Mucinex DM. Worked great for me in 24 hours. Then I had to take amoxicillin for 10 days 2 x a day.

I usually just opt for Zyrtec eventhough it makes me a cold medicine zombie.

Cetirizine (Zrytec, other brands) works better for me than Fenofexadine (Mucinex DM, Allegra, etc).

Everyone's different though.

For OTC, Advil Allergy Sinus, green box, works great for me. Recommended it to others who go similar results.

Mucinex D during the day, Mucinex DM at night. Allegra, Zyrtec, or Claritin during the day. Flonase(should start that in Jan.) 2 squirts in each nostril daily. You may need a steroid shot and antibiotics.

Assuming no high blood pressure, any sudafed (pseudophedrine .. -D) product to dry nasal passages / sinuses. You have to get this from behind the pharmacy counter (not the one out front). No Rx needed.

Mucinex aka Robitussion is only to loosen chest congestion. No point if you're not having chest congestion.

Zyrtec or Claritin should help with allergy.

Benadryl is an alternative at night (drowsy).

I use Zertec and Nasonex daily.

When my allergies really act up I found the new Mucinex Allergy clears it up pretty fast.

Whenever I use the D version I get real bad dizziness.

And I don't have high blood pressure, so that can't be the reason.
