Police were able to rescue an Alabama Credit Union employee at the beginning of the two-hour hostage situation near the University of Alabama campus Tuesday. The employee told police that the man in the credit union was armed, and was demanding that someone open the safe, according to court documents filed Wednesday.

If you're going to be dumb enough to commit armed robbery at least do it properly. I bet the cashier he held up heard the BB's rattling around in the gun

Well the most outrageous part of this case is that he was out on bond awaiting trial in an armed robbery and rape from late 2015. He then tries to rob this bank.
One might think he would be held without bail now. Nope. $60,000.
Maybe next he will kill someone. Idiots.

Was it a BB gun with a C02 cartridge? Not that it matters I guess, but those guns got a little power with them.. Well more than a standard BB gun.

This better not be true. And if it is that Judge needs to be removed from the bench. Of course, they may have set bond on the current charge but revoked on previous making the new bond moot.

This is the part that just baffles me.
But somehow this is going to be the judicial systems fault and the young man never had a chance.
He needs to be put away for life. There is no place for him in our society.

I disagree. People can be rehabilitated. It will be an uphill battle for this young guy, but every effort should be made to make him a contributing member of society that the rest of us don't have to fund for the rest of his life.

Some people can be eventually. But this guy needs to be in jail right now. He is an obvious danger to society.

Fair enough.
Chance of parole in 2030.
You should not be able to kidnap and rape a girl and walk the streets a year later.

I'm not sure why you would use a bb gun here.
You'll still get charged with armed robbery, yet won't actually hurt anyone seriously.

Fun fact: you can still be charged with armed robbery even if it's a fake gun.
