True. I bet most people don't realize that military bases are gun free zones. The only people allowed to carry a weapon are those in some sort of security/watch-standing role.

Seriously? DC's gun law was struck down by the Supreme Court a few years ago. Both Navy Yard shootings (assuming this is one) have occurred since then. There's no connection between DC's gun laws and these shootings.

Not even close. Navy Yard is a very nice and very safe area, relatively speaking. Apartments there start about $2500 a month, condos or townhouses start around $500k and range upwards of $1M.

Debatable, but irrelevant. Anacostia is across the river from the Navy Yard and the areas are not connected and are nothing alike.
