Booking an upcoming trip and interested in recommendations of those who go pretty often. Have stayed at the Southern Sun twice now but looking to branch out this time around. I'll actually have a few days of free time this visit and looking to see some things as well.

Are you going to ADIPEC?

I suggest the Fairmont. It's a 5 Star hotel You have a gorgeous view of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

Novatel Abu Dhabi Al Bustan

Less than a year old. Great rooms, good bar and restaurants.

About 20 minutes from the airport. Decent location if you take a taxi. Not really close enough to anything for walking.

I might be going a few days prior or a few days after but will catch either opening day or last day depending on how I book it. I also have to spend a couple of days in Dammam and Jubail. All the while trying to be home for the LSU/Bama game.

Yeah, I hear ya. Was trying to get away with meeting everyone I needed to in the UAE but turns out one of the most important people I need to meet isn't going to the show so I have to make a quick side trip there. It's much better than it used to be at least.

And I don't know what your goal is at ADIPEC, but the last day won't have the nearly the amount of people as the first day.

ADIPEC itself doesn't mean anything to me. It's about meeting most of my clients in the quickest amount of time. The show helps to facilitate that.

Next question, since you asked: Why didn't you do that?

Why come on TD, a place where only a handful of people have ever been there and ask for advice when trip advisor would have taken less time and offered a thousand times better input?

Shangri-La

ETA: The complex Shangri-La is in has quite a few bars/restaurants for entertainment. If you need a budget place, Traders is in the same complex.

There's probably about 10-15% of people who has never been to a game of their favorite team on here...yet you expect to get real insight on hotels in Abu Dhabi...ok

Trip advisor is what I've reliably used for traveling. If it's number 1 on there it's gonna be good.

I am just a little north of Jubail and it is unusually humid as frick right now. Weather will be ok then however. When in Abu Dhabi the Kempinski Emirates Palace is the go to if you dont mind the coin.

Go look at the main page of the OT. Most of the questions can be answered in similar fashions on the internet. People ask for recommendations for different cities on here all of the time.

The bigger questions to me are 1) why did you even click on this subject if you had nothing to add and 2) why does it bother you so much?
