Please stop using the "take that with a grain of salt" expression to accompany bad news for it makes no sense to be used in such fashion. A grain of salt is something that would spoil an otherwise perfectly sweet situation.

p.s. "dominate" is a verb, not an adjective.

I always thought, "take that with a grain of salt" implied that the news should be viewed with a heightened level of skepticism or that the source of information may be somewhat biased or untrustworthy.

I think YOU are the one using it incorrectly.
