I just don't get this-why do you want button down shirts to do yard work in? And you don't want thin ones?

Why not just buy some short sleeve button downs instead of long sleeve ones? Why not go to goodwill?

First, why long sleeve if I'm cutting the sleeves off anyways? The long sleeve shirts are made of a slightly heavier cotten weave. After you wash them 15-20x they are softer and more comfortable. They feel like simple tshirt material.

As for going to goodwill?

As for wanting button up shirts to begin with, they are slightly stiffer than tshirts. Because of that, if a little baggy, they allow a lot more air to flow under the shirt.

Just an accident that happened and I like the way they feel.

I've had these. 100% cotton, very comfortable. Wear good fishing. The only complaint was a few of the buttons had to be sewn back on. Otherwise not bad. There is a long sleeve version, but the material is identical. If that doesn't work for you, they have a lot of other shirts to look at

Exactly what I'm looking for if they aren't thin.

Thanks for the help.

I don't suppose you can say whether they run big or small?

I wouldn't say they're thick, but not see thru either. They run true to size. They have some advertised as work shirts. Those may be thicker
