And it is seriously affecting his judgement.

Watching it destroy his family, and no one is addressing it.

thats not true

you brought it to the OT

everything will be better now

But seriously, if you think its a major issue, the best way to address it is by first asking those around him (i.e. his family and other friends) what their thoughts on it are.

If you all seem to agree, then it is likely time to take action.

ETA: that is unless we're friends in real life and you're talking about me, in that case leave me alone, im not an alcoholic, i dont even plan to start drinking today until 530.

Alcoholics/Addicts are usually enabled to the point of no return. I've seen it first hand and the enablers can be as harmful as the addict himself. People need to learn that tough love is still love.

Scoop up the wife if she's hot.

Alcoholics gonna alcoholic until they really want to stop on their own.

Had a good friend die a few months ago who basically drank himself out of his family and job... Then started mixing drugs. Overdosed at 40.

couple issues here:

he said "there" not "their," so your joke acting like it was a possessive "their" typo when he meant to type "three" didnt work

also, it's "whose"

but carry on

This is coming from an addict: there is no helping him until he is ready to get help

while this is true, you and the family can do things to accelerate the process.

How does an addict have the ability to decide it's time to get help if his brain is on drugs all the time?

And what if he dies or kills someone before he chooses to get help?
