Anyone have theirs? Good site to find Engine diagrams labeled etc..?
Tips?-I understand each test differs state to state but they are also similar in context.

I do not have a class A CDL, but some how I am in charge of all CDL drivers for my company. Are you looking for the testing materials or something different. FMCSA.gov can probably search for just about everything DOT related or I can try to help you find what you are looking for.

Why do you need an engine diagram? You just need to know how to pre trip. My advice would be to just start from the front of the truck and point and name everything you see. There are practice tests you can print out all over the Internet.

You tube. Very detailed videos of inspections for obtaining a cdl class a.

Nice that you're trying to get a head start, but if you're bothering to take classes, they should teach you all this.
Get too far ahead and I'd guess you're going to get bored fast.
I've got a cdl-B and didn't take any classes. Just read the book, took about 5 practice tests that I found online and did it.
My co-worker did the same and accidentily told the DMV clerk he needed a class A. He failed the combination part of the test, studied it a few mins, re-took it and passed.
The third party pre-trip test CAN be hard if the tester wants it to be, so you're focusing on the right thing.
Good luck, but you don't need it.

One more note, the practice tests online are the exact questions that will be on the test.
The answers are arguable, so do the practice tests to learn what they want you to answer. (They get the questions from the info in the book, no more, no less.)

If your truck weighs 60,000lbs, how many tons is that?
Is your answer:

6?

Not a lot of info that I can give you that you don't already have or having been looking over. From speaking with my drivers, they say pay close attention to the pre-trip inspections because that is where most people run into trouble. The videos on YouTube are a good source of information as well taking the practice tests. I would also read up on the federal and state bridge formula so you can answer any questions that might come up due to axles and weight. Just because the truck GVRW is not over the limit doesn't mean that the truck isnt overloaded

Great, thanks! That is pretty much all I've been concentrating on the past couple of weeks. Appreciate the info.
