98.9 FM playing Katy Perry eye of the tiger repeatedly for a week straight. Why?

Stumbled across it and have been checking it a couple times per day. Same song on repeat since at least last Friday..no commercials or DJ...

20 years ago a NOLA station played the same Led Zeppelin song for an entire w/e with the catch phrase "1 song all weekend long"

They installed a new tower, playing the same song works well for testing the signal. They're rebranding as "Big Kat 98.9" so what better song than roar?

That makes sense. In the 90's the Shreveport 98.9 was re-branded as the "Rebel Rocker", and they played Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell" for a week straight.

when i was in high school there was a rock station that was going to change to country. everyone bitched so ownership said that if they could get 100,000 calls they would keep the format. they played one song for a week or two straight (Zeppelin i think) so people would call in asking what was going on.

I remember a station here in BR back in the late 80's playing the LSU fight song over and over for a lengthy period of time.
