Not sure if this is close enough to impact land or if tsunami is a concern.

I hope a tsunami engulfs California, no one dies, but it breaks that landmass off and pulls it out into the ocean, no longer connecting it to the great land of America

I would be more concerned about a tsunami than buildings be directly affected by the shaking, it seems too far away for that (could be wrong).

Would imagine that a 6.8 would create a tsunami, albeit maybe a small one.

Has Cali fallen into the ocean yet? Would make for one hell of a Christmas gift

And if California slides into the ocean
Like the mystics and statistics say it will
I predict this motel will be standing
until I pay my bill

Did it do enough damage to cause California to float out to sea and sink???

Low probability. looks like the quake is on a transform fault and not a thrust. 6.8 at worst would be expected to generate a small tsunami if a thrust. Watch for other activity north of Ferndale quake the next couple months.

Good idea ... but wait, wouldn't that make it like a closer version of Hawaii but more needy???

It's really funny how people from Louisiana say this about other areas of the country.
