I'm about to finish my 2nd round of p90x3 and I'm starting to crave some weight lifting. I am thinking about doing 5x5 for about 6 weeks before moving on to something else.
Any of you guys have much experience with the routine and results?

I did it for 8 weeks. I hope you like doing squats 3 times a week

Yeah. I'm not thinking that would be real fun at 5am in the cold garage. But I'm tired of 6 days a week every week and want some sort of a break while still getting in good work

that is the best way for strength results.

It works
good program for novice weight lifters or people who have never been on a proper program.
About twice a year I ditch what ever program im on and do 5x5 to get back to basics. Always good to work on your foundation.

I love Strong lifts. I'm not working out right now but when I do I typically do this.
You'll love it then. And you wont get burnt out as quickly. The biggest piece of advice is to start off small and make sure you have your form down. Going up 5lbs every time when your form is sub par can really mess you up.

I did it for like 3 weeks. It's fun. I'd do it again. The squats can be pretty intense.

I've done Starting Strength which is the 3x5 version. Great program for getting strong as hell. Just be sure to eat a lot and you'll be good.
6 weeks might not be enough time but do it till you get bored. If you get want check out Crossfit Football or EndOfThree Fitness if you want strength and keep your conditioning.
