When Sue Ellen earlier showed up at her sister's apartment with the gun (looking for J.R.), Kristin calmly offered her a drink, with the knowledge that she was drunk and would most likely pass out. Once that happened, after placing Sue Ellen back in her car, unconscious, Kristin took the gun and shot J.R. and planted the gun in Sue Ellen's closet the next day in order to frame her.

Well, that was easy

I miss this show

The reboot was good but you knew once Larry Hagman died that it wasn't going to last. I am sure they were expecting more than a season and a half out of him

The producers filmed various cast members doing the shooting, to keep the identity of the actual shooter a secret

I rewatched it a couple years back and it actually aged very well IMO. Like an early 80s time warp.

I bet the Cattle Baron's Ball was a pretty sweet throw down when JR was there.

Remember where you were when you saw Pam die? Assuming you saw it when it aired originally?

The night Pam died I was in the den of my parent's house, on a sheep skin rug, in my underwear.

Man, that was a damn epic day in this country....the whole place was just swallowed up in the "who shot JR?" thing...and they left us hanging with it all summer!

It really is hard to believe that it was 37 years ago.
